This 6-day Atlas Mountain adventure takes you beyond the standard Toubkal climb, offering a deeper exploration of Morocco’s High Atlas region. Unlike rushed 2-day ascents, our carefully designed itinerary ensures proper acclimatization while immersing you in authentic Berber culture.
Day 1: Marrakech → Imlil (1,740m) → Tizi Oussem (1,850m)
Morning: Scenic drive to Imlil (2hrs), meet Berber team
Trek (5hrs): Cross Tizi n’Tamatert pass (2,279m)
Highlight: First village stay with terraced agriculture views
Night: Traditional guesthouse (tagine dinner)
Stats: 14km ↗800m ↘600m
Day 2: Tizi Oussem → Azib Tamsoult (2,400m)
Morning: Hike past Ighouliden waterfalls
Afternoon: Arrive at summer pasture settlement
Culture: Participate in bread-making with shepherds
Night: Mountain gîte (communal Berber house)
Stats: 10km ↗900m
Day 3: Azib Tamsoult → Toubkal Refuge (3,207m)
Challenge: Steep ascent via Aguelzim Pass (3,560m)
Reward: Panoramic High Atlas views
Prep: Summit briefing over mint tea
Night: Neltner Refuge (dormitory)
Stats: 8km ↗1,100m
Day 4: Summit Day! Refuge → Toubkal (4,167m) → Refuge
2:30 AM: Alpine start with headlamps
Sunrise: Summit photo at first light (weather permitting)
Afternoon: Rest or optional valley exploration
Night: Refuge celebration dinner
